Peter Pilotto Resort 2012

I recently visited Starworks PR HQ to view the Peter Pilotto Resort 2012 collection.
Other collections were on show from Roksanda to Jonathan Saunders,
however this was definitely my favourite.
The collection is so uplifting to look at whilst remaining wearable.
I love the bright, bold colours and the use of print
that the label has become famed for.

My personal favourite: the double-breasted blazer.

I can't wait to see what Peter Pilotto, and handsome design partner,
Christopher de Vos have in store for us at next month's LFW.

Lucian Freud

I’ve always been a big fan of Lucien Freud’s artwork and think that these photographs reflect the clear and direct way in which he worked perfectly. They’re so natural and raw, that you feel like you’re part of the sitting. What a joy it was to find these beauties!

On that note I’ll leave you with this:

"I've always been interested in extremes, but I'm not interested in doing freaks. I want to paint ordinary people with the attention freaks might get if they appeared in public. I don't want to use the fact that someone may be made differently as a point of interest."

More from Latitude: The Balancing Barn

Here are more photos from Latitude featuring 'The Balancing Barn'
that we stayed in courtesy of work. (Thanks, boss!)

This was one of the rare occasions that it wasn't pouring with rain,
so I was able to take a few photos of the incredible architectural delight.
It was a pleasure to stay in, made even more apparent after the weekend of torrential rain. I was certainly pleased to get into my bed at the end of every night.
Who needs camping!?

Alice Menter Jewellery

Is it too early to start writing my Christmas list?
If not, this Alice Menter Chloe Collar would certainly be near the top of it.
I just love the design of this piece, and the fact that it is made out of nuts
(as in, nuts and bolts, that is...).

Fruit Ice Lolly

How good does this fruit ice lolly look?
Good enough to eat
I must learn how to make one of these bad boys - yum!

Latitude Festival Round-Up

I survived Latitude 2011 despite the torrential downpour.
I came home early Monday morning in
time for work at 9pm in London (what a killer!),
however you can all breathe a sigh of relief as it was totally worth it.

The festival specialises in smaller up-and-coming acts,
the kind that are championed by 6 Music.
I really like this as you don't have such a rigid schedule of must-see artists that you compile weeks in advance for the likes of Glasto;
you simply go on recommendations,
hunches and whatever you happen to be walking past.
My top three this year were:
1. Suede (what a performance from Brett Anderson!)
2. Foals (although could have done
without the over-excited school-leavers moshing)
3. Seasick Steve (the old Southern belle is such a charismatic performer)

As you can probably gather from the photos, the special thing
about Latitude is the arts scene.
You can literally just spend your day's walking around the site,
and through the forest surrounding it on both sides,
finding charming installations and performances.
For instance in the forest alone there was a 'knitted Narnia' (above and below),
a mysterious dressing up shed and art-house films being projected to name but a few.

The night was the most exciting part though as when the music finished
on the main stages the DJs came out in force.
There were DJs everywhere from one in a garden shed
to another playing 90s dance in a teepee.
Such fun!

Latitude Festival

Sorry for infrequency of my blogs recently, I've not only got out of the swing of it whilst being on holiday and am also in the process of moving house. Double whammy.

Sadly, I do not have any beautiful photos of spice-filled souks, and mesmorising mosaics from my recent trip to Turkey. Unfortunately, my camera just wouldn't fit in my hand luggage (well, I am an Easy Jet girl at heart) and so therefore we had a temporary separating but thankfully we are now back on speaking terms after having a break.

However, today I am heading for Latitude festival and cannot wait to see the likes of Foals, Caribou, Suede, The National and British Sea Power. Watch this space for fun-fuelled Latitude photos...

The picture above is of some coloured lambs stationed at Latitude, as tweeted by the festival’s twitter account this morning. Enjoy!

Markus Lupfer Resort Mockumentary feat. Florence Welch

Puzzle of the Mysterious Mind / Markus Lupfer Resort 2012 from Partizan Darkroom on Vimeo.

Markus Lupfer bags the award for the best ever Resort Collection, as presented by me! Forget traditional catwalks and photoshoots, Lupfer has created a fantastic video in which to present his Resort Collection. The video is entitled ‘Discover the Puzzle of the Mysterious Mind’, and is a 60s style mockumentary that looks at the science of fashion.

However, the best is yet to come... It features a top fashion cast including Florence 'hoarder' Welch, Sadie 'asymmetric' Frost and is narrated by Margo Stilley. I've watched it four times in a row now, and I just can't stop...

Trilogy Rosehip Oil

Yesterday, I attended the Trilogy skincare range press day at the delicious Bills.
In amongst the delicious croissants and fruit jam, and homemade fudge
were some fantastic beauty finds inlcuding the rosehip oil.

I am a firm supporter of oils full stop,
especially the Trilogy rosehip oil which is perfect
for achieving moisturised and glowing skin.
And it is completely natural and organic as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the range has to offer.
